Texas summer days are often spent trying to avoid the 100 degree weather. Growing up in Houston, I remember running through sprinklers, sliding down homemade slip n slides or jumping into the nearest neighbor's pool.
For my kids, we have something totally new this summer....a river, ironically called "Lake" Austin. For Wesley, my youngest, it was not enough to jump off the dock, he wanted to take it to next level and decides to jump off the top of the boat house. Or better yet, fling himself over the water on a rope swing into leg numbingly cold water.
