Kids Zines

My parents couldn't afford to send me and my siblings to summer camp, and they had a lot of friends in the same situation. So they decided as a group to form their own informal camp. Every week two parents would take all us kids and plan some sort of activity, so the other parents could have a day off to do errands or just relax. Sometimes we'd go to a park, or other times we'd all do a craft. Kids arts & crafts are a great way to keep kids occupied in the summer.

I was excited to see over at Craft Zine these directions on the different ways to do a kids craft project for making their own zines. For those who might not know, "zine" is just a term for a self-made magazine. It can be anything, from writing to illustration. Getting kids to make their own publication is the ultimate creative activity. Anything goes, and in the end they've created a keepsake. For detailed instructions, check out their post.
