Little Luxuries

Share |

In this economy, I think sometimes the hardest thing about being a parent is letting your kids know they might have to make some sacrafices too without making them worried or anxious. My strategy has been to establish a few routines that are consistent for my kids. As pictured above, one of these is that every Friday on the walk to school we stop by this donut vendor and they each get to pick out a treat. Okay, perhaps not the most health concious reward for a long week of school, but at 60 cents a kid, I'll let it slide! I'd be curous to know if any of you have simaler routines.

we do little things together that are fun, like going to the beach, walking on the trellas bridge, going to the playground, or just hanging out at home and playing outside in the dirt. I try to do things that are fun that don't cost a lot, and all the above activities don't cost a dime. :0)
