I grew up in a household where watching TV was a family event. I can't even remember if there was such a thing as “Kids Only” programming at the time, but I do remember looking forward to watching:
• The Carol Burnett Show
• Little House on the Prairie or The Waltons
• Mutual of Omahas Wild Kingdom
So, I am forever looking for a family show we can all enjoy. And, American Idol is IT! My kids actually know who Simon is (the mean guy) and have included "wassup Dog" in their vocabulary (I’m still not sure if that’s the greeting I want to hear when I’m barely awake pouring their Cocoa Puffs in the morning, but I’m going with it for now).
Wake up, Hollywood. Families are hip (Bestselling magazine covers last year wereAngelina Jolieand beauty babe). There is a tremendous need for quality family shows...shows that everyone (from my 2 year old on up to my husband) can laugh, sing and be a part of a family moment. So, in the spirit of family, we've compiled our own list of "Must See TV":
• I Love Lucy series (I literally think she was a genius)
• Errol Flynn
• Swiss Family Robinson
• The Pink Panther series
I’d love to hear some of your favorites...
If you have any suggestions for mom based businesses or ideas you think we should feature, email me at Vicki@warmbiscuit.com.
I’d love to hear from you!
